The circulated content has been compiled from various clips of a speech delivered by the President during a civic reception held in his home district of Pabna in 2023, during the previous government’s tenure.
Verification of the video's origin shows that the podium in front of the President bore the inscription of the civic reception, which provided a lead. A keyword search led to the full broadcast of the event on the YouTube channel of electronic media outlet Maasranga TV. The video, titled “Civic Reception to the President from Civil Society at Govt. Edward College Field, Pabna,” was streamed live on May 16, 2023.
Reviewing the footage reveals that starting from timestamp 3:34:53, parts of President Shahabuddin’s speech match segments from the edited video. In that portion, he makes several remarks linking Dr. Yunus to efforts aimed at obstructing the Padma Bridge project and undermining the then-Awami League government. However, no discussion related to the humanitarian corridor is found. Given that the event occurred in 2023 and the corridor issue is a recent topic, the possibility of such discussion is implausible. It is evident that the viral video was created by digitally cutting, mirroring, and assembling various parts of the original speech using technological tools.
