The caption of the original video states that it was recorded on February 24, 2023, at Rangpur Medical College Hospital.

A video showing police officers mourning beside a deceased colleague is being circulated across various online platforms with the claim that it is related to an incident where an officer-in-charge (OC) was killed inside a police station. However, fact-checking reveals that the claim is misleading.

According to an investigation by the Rumor Scanner team, the video is not linked to any incident of an OC being killed inside a police station. Instead, it captures the moment of mourning following the death of a police constable in a road accident in 2023.

Further examination found that a Facebook profile named Salauddin Kader Lablo had originally posted the video on February 25, 2023. A comparison confirms that the footage matches the one currently being circulated with misleading claims.

The caption of the original video states that it was recorded on February 24, 2023, at Rangpur Medical College Hospital. The footage shows fellow officers mourning the death of Constable Md. Mominul Islam, who was stationed at the Bara Dargah Highway Police Outpost and was killed in a road accident.

Additionally, a report published on February 24, 2023, by Bangla Tribune under the headline "Highway Police Officer Killed in Bus Accident" corroborates the details of the incident.

Therefore, the video does not depict a recent event, nor is it related to any attack inside a police station. The circulation of this footage with claims of an OC being killed is misleading and factually incorrect.
