Recently, a claim titled “Public Opinion in Bangladesh on the Issue of Palestine: Chief Adviser to the Government Dr. Yunus Expresses Solidarity and Urges Citizens to Participate in an Online Survey” has been circulated on social media along with a link.
Fact-Check
Rumor Scanner Team’s investigation reveals that no such call has been made by Dr. Muhammad Yunus, the Chief Adviser to the interim government, urging citizens to participate in any online survey regarding Palestine. Rather, the survey is being conducted using Dr. Yunus’s name to spread this false claim.
Upon investigating the circulated link, it was observed that the website displays announcements titled “National-Level Public Opinion in Bangladesh on the Issue of Palestine” and “Government-Approved Online Public Opinion Collection” at the very beginning. The site falsely states that Dr. Muhammad Yunus, as Chief Adviser to the Government, expressed solidarity with Palestine and urged citizens to take part in an online survey. Slightly further down the page, users are asked to complete and submit a form under the label of application instructions, which collects names and ages of the applicants.
Furthermore, a review of the voting link domain (https://govtofferbd.xyz/votes) confirms that it does not belong to any official government website.
The investigation into whether Dr. Yunus made such a call to participate in an online survey in solidarity with Palestine found no supporting evidence from the Chief Adviser GOB Facebook page, the media, or any credible sources.
Therefore, the claim that Dr. Muhammad Yunus expressed solidarity with Palestine and called upon citizens to participate in an online survey is entirely false and fabricated.
